Don't let TIME be the enemy of strategic planning!

Creating a strategy focused culture is no easy task

Front line employees and managers alike often get caught up in their day to day work and can easily lose sight of their purpose in the organization. Nevertheless, each employee contributes to achievement of the organization’s strategic vision.

In some cases, front line employees have little to no insight into the company’s strategic destination. In my experience, lack of insight is the result of one or more scenarios: 1) organization’s lack a strategic plan and strategy map 2) organization’s rarely review their strategy 3) organization’s do not regularly communicate strategic progress. The absence of any of one of these things begs the question, “What are the barriers?” My hunch… TIME.

New Call-to-action

ESM FastTrack® offers the support needed to get organizations up and running in just 6-8 weeks. The unique delivery model establishes the strategic foundation required to create a culture of strategy. A culture of strategy is characterized by an environment where all employees understand the mission and vision and are commitment to that end. To facilitate the cultural shift, ESM FastTrack identifies a team of participants who will not only contribute to strategy development, but also serve as strategic allies in their respective groups. Typically the group consists of one or more executive champions and representatives from management. Participants works together, with the guidance of ESM’s strategy expert, to develop/identify critical business objectives, KPIs, and initiatives and assign ownership to strategic elements. Together they will develop a Strategy Map and Balanced Scorecard leveraging best practice strategic planning templates.
